CDIO Project 1 - Car Chassis 

 

This project was my first CDIO project when coming to university, working in teams of 12 we had to design, calculate, build then race the car chassis at the university. 

 

This project took over 4 months to complete and taught me vital skills such as different structural analysis techniques. We also used handmade engineering drawings to document and manufacture parts for the chassis. 

We were supplied with the rear drive system the wheels, brakes and steering mechanism but as a team we had to organise ourselves between our different studies, Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering and Product Design, to come up with the concept complete the analysis calculations and then to build the chassis whilst being monitored through multiple gateways.
