Rapha Bike Seat with Integrated Light

 

As part of the Rapha Brief my input also included the concept to have a saddle with a built in light. Rapha already have a excellent knowledge of fabrics and leathers and a saddle can be an extention of this, with a little engineering and the use of a removable light can highlight the consumers safety as well as style.

 

The design will need to be ergonomic and aesthetic to the Rapha brand identity, The above render demonstrates my design intention, it demonstrates the lighted zone which would flash with multiple modes. My intention to have a two tone leather saddle also demonstrates Rapha’s identity of style and multiple colours could be produced as a range.
